REGISTRATION DEADLINES APPROACHING:
1) Youth Programs registration deadline is February 27th. This includes youth racquetball, volleyball, basketball, and tennis. Registration deadline for youth TRX fitness, sports training, and aquatics is approaching soon.

The Polar Plunge is an annual fundraiser organized by community volunteers and is part of the year-round Law Enforcement Torch Run program to raise awareness and funds to support physical tness and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Polar Plunges offer a unique opportunity for individuals, organizations, and businesses to support Special Olympics athletes by raising money and taking the plunge into chilly North Dakota waters. Plungers raise a minimum of $75 for the opportunity to take the plunge. Have FUN! Form a team, come up with a fun name and crazy costumes with friends, co-workers, or classmates. Choice Indoor/Outdoor Triathlon

500 yard swim (20 lengths in pool). 14 mile bike. 5 K run. Location: Choice Health & Fitness pool and South East parking lot Early Bird Registration: April 9th ($40 for members, $45 for non-members) Regular Event Registration: April 24th at 12pm ($55 for members & non members) TRIATHLON EVENT INFO -Heat 1 starts at 8:00 am sharp (6 athletes in each heat, starting every 20 min) -You have 18 minutes to finish your swim. (If you are not finished, get out of pool & 2 min. will be added to your swim time) -After swim, transition to the bikes (Transition area tents will be set up by the parking lot outside the pool area) -You will bike 14 miles – no time limit (24 spin bikes will be set up in the South East Parking Lot) -You must pedal throughout entire 14 mile bike. (If you stop – time/distance will zero out) -After bike, transition to the run (transition area is the same as from swim to bike) -5K run takes you on a marked loop down 47th and onto the Greenway and back to Choice -When 5K run is completed – Woohoo! The 45-minute workshop will include a golf specific warm-up and cool down, mobility and flexibility exercises, and strength training for better distance and ball control, with a focus on injury corrections and prevention of common golf injuries. Workshop will be featuring the TRX Rip Trainer which is an essential tool for anyone looking to strengthen their core and increase their cardiovascular endurance. The Rip Trainer employs an innovative resistance cord system to create a variable, unbalanced load that enables you to develop cores strength, explosive rotational power, flexibility and endurance. Training is available both in and out of the golf season.

EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION: February 27, 2017 ($225 Entry Fee) TOURNAMENT ENTRY DEADLINE: March 10, 2017 ($250 Entry Fee) TOURNAMENT SITES: Betty Engelstad Arena, Central High School, Red River High School, and Choice Health & Fitness MORE INFO & REGISTRATION: choicehf.com/sporting-events/grand-am-adult-basketball-tournament/ Completed registration, rosters, and tournament fee must be submitted online by the entry deadline. In the interest of fair play and to complete divisions, we reserve the right to reclassify teams prior to the tournament. GENERAL RESTRICTIONS: - Players are only allowed to compete on one roster in the tournament. - Any current or graduating college player (subject to NCAA and NAIA rules) may participate in the Open division. Open is the only division available to college players who played college basketball during the 2016-17 season. Players are responsible for confirming with their coach whether or not their participation in the Grand Am tournament will affect their eligibility. - Teams with three or more former college players must play in the Open or A division. - No former college players are permitted to play in any Recreation division. This includes red-shirted players and players who participated or practiced as part of the team for even a single day. Former junior college players of every level are considered college players and therefore cannot participate in any Recreation division. Teams with three or more former college players must play in the Open or A division. Former Division I players must play in the Open division. Division II players may play in the Open or A division. - Women’s teams with three or more current/former college players must play in the Open division. Former junior college players or players who competed on a junior varsity count as former college players. - Women’s teams with any current/former Division I or Division II players must play in the Open division. - No high school players (underclassmen or graduating seniors) are allowed due to compete in the tournament due to NCAA rules and regulations. - All current or former professional players must compete in the Open division. - Teams found with illegal players will forfeit the game. NOTE FROM THE ORGANIZERS: Please review your start times and let your teams know when your first game will take place. Just as in years past, we are requiring captains to check in at the Betty Engelstad Arena (where the tournament headquarters will be located). Captains will find out the site of their team’s first game during check-in and pick up their team’s player passes so that players may enter facilities free of charge. If players are not carrying a player pass with them, they will be required to purchase a pass. Please review the food & beverage policy and parking information. Also please note that parking is not permitted in the UND Wellness Center parking lot located directly West from the entrance to the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center. UND campus police will ticket vehicles in that lot. Please remember to bring your own athletic tape and first aid supplies (bandages, ice packs, etc.) as these will not be available at tournament sites.
