Updated Mask Policy

On October 26, 2020 the Grand Forks City Council passed a resolution requiring the use of face-coverings in public spaces with the following exemptions approved from face mask wearing:

  1. Persons younger than school age, although parents and guardians are encouraged to have such younger children wear face coverings when and where appropriate;
  2. Persons with a health, medical condition, disability or safety that prevents wearing a face covering or the compliance with this Resolution is precluded under any federal, state or local law, including the federal Americans with Disability Act (the “ADA”);
  3. Persons performing job duties where a six (6) foot distance is not achievable, but a mask is inhibitory to the ability to safely and effectively perform the job duty;
  4. Persons participating in voting in any federal, state or local election
  5. Persons participating in athletic activities where a six (6) feet distance is not achievable, but a mask is inhibitory to the activity;
  6. Persons actively consuming food or drink;
  7. Persons driving a motor vehicle alone or with passengers from the driver’s household;
  8. Persons receiving services that require access to the face for security, surveillance, or other purposes may temporarily remove a face covering while receiving those services;
  9. Persons engaged in religious worship activities; however, face coverings are strongly encouraged;
  10. Persons giving a speech or performance for broadcast or to an audience; however, those persons shall safely distance from nearby individuals.

Therefore, effective November 10, 2020 and until further notice, face-coverings are required at Choice Health & Fitness with the exceptions listed above. Please wear a face-covering over your mouth and nose when entering and exiting Choice Health & Fitness, when participating in a Choice Health & Fitness program that requires a mask, and in other areas of the facility when not engaged in exercise. We continue to encourage face mask use during lower intensity exercise.

We know how critical physical activity is to overall health and our goal is to provide a safe, healthy environment for our community to enjoy year-round. We truly thank you for your understanding.
